Adam Milstein On Becoming A Real Estate Professional

Adam Milstein has come a long way from working in construction zones to guiding clients through purchasing and leasing million-dollar properties. He’s a Managing Partner at Hager Pacific Properties and oversees the administrative tasks on properties across California, Texas and Illinois. He’s all too familiar with the tricky nature of the business, but his persistence in the field has helped build a company worth billions of dollars. Ideamensch decided to ask Milstein more about his business in an interview.

Adam Milstein told them he became interested in real estate brokering when he had finished graduate school and felt he could make his own money. It’s taken some time to add organization to his company, and Milstein admits even today his average workday may not have a set schedule. One of his key principles is active philanthropy and as the leader of a family foundation he not only gives financial support to Jewish organizations across America, he is personally active in all of them. Milstein does keep all his contacts organized and says entrepreneurs should use Constant Contact as a way to do so. Milstein says David Hager, his friend and partner has had the most influence on his life and business career.

Adam Milstein had some background in the construction and building framing trade, the profession his father held while Adam grew up in Israel. He also served in the Israeli armed forces under Commander Ariel Sharon during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, and after completing his duty he became a student at the Technion. While there he also ran a side business selling art. Adam Milstein also married Gila Elgrably during this time and became a father of three daughters.

The Milsteins moved to the US in 1981 and started their company in the Los Angeles area not long after. They had been involved in philanthropy for many years but officially started their family foundation in the year 2000. They also began distributing Hebrew learning books to Jewish American families through a publishing company called Sifriyat Pijama B’America. Adam Milstein travels around the world to speak on issues affecting Jews and the nation of Israel and he works with many organizations including the Israeli-American Council, Valley Beth Shalom Day School, NCSY, Mason Hillel, AIPAC, and StandWithUs.
